What are Baskets?

To make your investment journey easy for you, we’re offering the option to choose a customized Basket of Stocks and ETFs. It's the easiest way to get an overview of your investing options, even if you don't know where to begin.

We’re rolling out our Baskets to all of our users in the near future. If you don’t see the option to choose a Basket when signing up for a Stocks Account yet, no worries — it’ll be available over the coming weeks! In the meantime, you can still sign up and use a bunq Stocks Account.

Choosing a basket is completely free and you don't commit to buying anything. You can think of it as a curated list of Stocks and ETF. Simply pick basket which resonates best with your interests and values from the following options:

  • Tech: Back the companies building tomorrow — from AI to the apps you use every day.

  • Green: Invest in companies focused on green innovation and sustainability.

  • Most Popular: Follow the top 10 stocks most bought by bunq users.

  • Big Companies: Invest in some of the world’s most recognized and established companies.

Once you’ve picked a Basket, you can explore the selection and decide what, if anything, you’d actually like to invest in. To make your Basket uniquely yours, you can customize your Basket by adding or removing Stocks and ETFs.

Add a Stock or ETF to your Basket

When you're ready to make a move and buy your first stock, it will automatically be added to your Basket. From that moment on, your Basket transforms into your personal portfolio, giving you a clear overview of all your investments in one place. Any stock or ETF you buy in the future, whether it was from the original basket or one you found yourself, will always be added to this single overview, so you can access it with ease.

Remove a Stock or ETF from your Basket

To remove a Stock or an ETF from your Basket, simply long-press on it and tap on Remove From Basket

What if I already have a Stocks Account?

Good news! If you’re already investing with us, your existing Portfolio automatically becomes your personal Basket. All of your stocks and ETFs will now be accessible to you directly from your Basket overview in your Stocks Tab. You’ll get a clear, unified view of all your investments, and you can easily customize your Basket by adding or removing Stocks and ETFs from your view.

What type of stocks can I buy?

With a minimum investment of €10, you can start trading right away. You can invest in the following assets:

  • Popular stocks - well-known, large companies that are widely traded.

  • Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) - ETFs allow you to invest in multiple assets at once.

What are the trading hours?

To make your trading experience smoother, we offer extended trading time frames between 08:00 and 21:00 CEST.

Note: You can place a stock purchase or sell order outside of trading hours. Then, it will be carried out as soon as the market reopens.

How can I sell my stocks?

  1. Go to the 📈Stocks tab

  2. Select the stock you want to sell from your Basket

  3. Tap on Sell

  4. Select the amount you want to sell and tap Sell once again

Are there any fees?

For the first 3 months after opening your Stocks Account, we charge no fees for buying or selling stocks. This applies up to a limit of €100,000 in completed buy and sell orders. Any amount above this will be subject to the standard trading fees. After this promotional period, a fee of 0.99% will apply to all trades, whether you are buying or selling.

Keep in mind that if you’re a bunq Pro and bunq Elite user, you’re getting a discount!

  • bunq Pro users get 20% discount on fees

  • bunq Elite users get a 50% discount on fees

Note on the Trade Limit: Trade volume over €100,000 won’t be covered by the 3-month free offer. This means that if a single trade pushes you over the €100,000 free limit, the standard fee will apply to the entire amount of that specific trade. For example, if you've already traded €90,000 and then make a new trade for €15,000, the fee will be charged on the full €15,000, not just the part that went over the limit.
